My School

In my life, I never studied in my country in any type of schools. My school was in Saudi Arabia and Syria. My school in Saudi Arabia was good with everything. Such as, our classes, computer lab, since lab, and sport fields. Our semester classes start in the end of the summer. Next, we were wearing the Saudis traditional clothes (thoob). The good thing in our school was that teachers were coming to the class. My school was so funny as here in the U.S. The life in my school was easier because, when I got home, I found the food was ready, and I have our family driver to pick me up.

Coffee and Tea

Coffee and tea are very popular in my country (Tunisia), my mother's country (Syria), and the country where I live (Saudi Arabia). In the Arabic countries, every country has its own traditional coffee or tea. For example, in Syria people like Turkish coffee, but in Saudi Arabia people like the Arabic yellow coffee. Usually Turkish coffee reminds me to my mother because she likes to drink it every morning. I love Turkish coffee because my mother loves it too, and I like red tea because it tastes very good. Actually, I like all of these drinks because all of them remind me about other things. For example, Saudi or (Arabic) yellow coffee reminds me about when I was with my friends camping in the desert and we have a good time there. I know that some people don't like coffee because of the taste is not sweet. But they should like if they have a lot of tests. Because, it always makes them a wake.

movies with culture

In my country, there is no huge movie industry. Because, the Arabic language that we speak in Tunisia is very difficult to understand it from other Arabic countries. But, my mother country has very huge industrial movies and series. In my country people like to watch American movies with French speakers. But, in other Arabic countries, people are like Arabic movies and international movies. Next, people like American movies the most and French movies comes second. After that, For me, I like American movies the most and like Arabic movies the second. Finally, my favorite movie is "Troy". I love this movie because it's talk about real story and it has good actors. Movies are very important in every culture in the world.

My Song

My favorit music is Arabic (Syrian) music. I like it because I love my mother's country, and it's part of my mother's country. And, It has very good words for love. My favorite artist is Celine Dion and her song "Just Walk Away". When I listen to this song, I remeber my ex-girlfriend in Syria because she was loving this song, and I remember our time together. I start listen to this song before four years, when I was in love her. I think everybody who had or having love has favorite song.

Tunisian Couscous

Couscous is my favorite food because, It taste very good,it has a lot of meat and it is healthy. Couscous remind me to my family, even if my small family in Saudi Arabia because my mother do it in there, or my large family in Tunisia. Couscous is the native food in Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, and Morocco. And, it is different little bit between those countries by color, spices and the kind of meat.Couscous made by kind of rise with vegetables, meat, chicken or fish, sauce and spices. I hope you taste it if you didn't before. it is delicious.

Before and After Coming to The U.S.

Before I came here, I thought that people are very dangerous. my mother was always saying "be careful" from thieves.I thought that people are very racist. the image which movies gave us was wrong sometimes. I was knowing that some movie show us the true image about some places in the U.S. When I came here, I saw that people are very kind more than what I was think. Some old women are not kind in airports. People here are more respectful with other people. Police in here are more committed than police in my country. I know that Carbondale where I live in is small city, so there is no many dangerous people in here. Finally, some images in my head changes because it is true, and others changed because it was wrong.

Firsat Bad Story

When I was in Saudi Arabia where I live, it was Eid (holiday for Muslims). I was setting with my friends, and we were 8 people, one of us said "let's go to downtown". When we were on our way to the coffee shop, the driver did something very stupid by the car. He was driving wrechless at 100 miles per hour. We were so surprised and so scared when he did that. The car was moving so crazy, I felt like I was inside the tornado. After that, the driver lost the control. And struck in the rail fence. I realized what happened when the car stopped, I heard my friends sounds, the sounds like some pain. When I got out from the car, I saw something unbelievable. The car was completely destroyed and some of my friends were unconscious. I was so shocked. So I called the emergency and my friends helped the unconscious to get them out of the car. Finally, the ambulance took us to the hospital, and there we took the normal test. My unconscious friends stayed in the hospital, nobody had dangerous injury. Thank god because we are good.
